The Service de Normalisation Industrielle Marocaine (SNIMA) was instituted by dahir n° 1.70.157 of 26 Journada 1 1390 (July 30, 1970) which addressed standard-setting issues, specifically quality research and improving productivity.
SNIMA is under the umbrella of the Ministry of Industry. It is charged with coordinating national standard setting activities.
SNIMA is made up of four units charged with, respectively, standard-setting, certification, information and training.
